Ikanović: FBiH Government Must Allocate Funds for Children from Vrbanjci and Konjević Polje

Today, when parents from Vrbanjci were supposed to officially confirm and harmonize the previously reached agreement with the Minister of Education and Culture of the RS, that their children return to the system where they will be able to study a group of national subjects, the minister did not appear at the meeting, says Edin Ikanović, one of the coordinators of the First March Coalition, for the Patria news agency.

-This again shows how ready the government of this entity and the minister himself are to solve the problem of these parents and children, and that for them, the issues of Bosniaks are a mere formality.

The issue of Vrbanjci and Konjević Polje could have been resolved long ago if it had been in the interest of the RS Government. There are only a few days left until the start of the school year, and a solution for these children will not be found within the system.

Therefore, the Federation Government must provide financial resources for holding classes in the same way as they did last year. That is the least that can be done for these children, who have been humiliated for two years just because of their names and because they want to speak their own language, Ikanović emphasizes.
