(Patria) - Real Madrid won the Spanish Super Cup after demolishing arch-rival Barcelona in a dominant performance.
The final was played in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where after the match there were many reasons for the Royal Club's fans to celebrate.
Brazilian Vinicius Junior scored the first three goals for Real. The first in the seventh minute from a phenomenal pass by Jude Bellingham, the second in the 10th minute after another excellent move and assist from Rodrygo.
He scored the third from a penalty in the 39th minute. Robert Lewandowski scored the only goal for Barcelona in the 33rd minute.
Vinicius's hat-trick is historic. He became only the fifth player in the history of the world's biggest derby to score three goals in the first half of El Clásico.
Before him, only Samitier (Barcelona) in 1926, Barinaga (Real) in 1943, Narro (Real) in 1951, and Zamorano (Real) in 1995 had managed this. Real's forward thus became the first scorer of a hat-trick in the first half of El Clásico in the 21st century.
Rodrygo put the icing on the cake for the Royals with a goal in the 64th minute for a final score of 4:1, and Araújo's second yellow card in the 71st minute of the match concluded a nightmarish evening for Barça.
Thus, Real Madrid, completely deservedly, won their first trophy of the season.
