IGK on the gathering in Belgrade: Genocide deniers disrupt peace and stability

(Patria) - At a conference titled "Politicization of the Srebrenica War Crime", organized in Belgrade by the Eurasian Security Forum, the genocide in Srebrenica was denied and relativized, although it has been legally confirmed before international and domestic courts.

The participants of the gathering, including retired military officials, politicians, and some academics, claimed that genocide did not occur in Srebrenica, but rather a "war crime", and stated that the issue of Srebrenica is a "political tool of the West directed against the Serbian people".

IGK tells the participants of the Belgrade gathering that their action is deeply anti-civilizational, dehumanizing, inhumane, dangerous for peace and stability in the world, and disastrous for international justice and law. Their action degrades the United Nations and international legal and judicial authorities and documents.

"Those who deny the verdicts of international courts, who violate international law, justice, and truth, who try to revise history, judicial and scientific arguments, and those who recently dangerously threaten the territorial integrity, sovereignty, independence, and political subjectivity of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the name of extremism belong to the historical inhuman waste against whom, unfortunately, we must fight even more today. We continue the fight for a better future of our civilization, for a world without war and genocide in which peace and respect for the other and different will prevail, in which truth will overcome falsehood, justice will overcome injustice, and the culture of remembrance will overcome the culture of forgetting.

Genocide deniers have no chance against truth and justice. Our choice is truth, justice, and the culture of remembrance. This is the time of truth and justice in which you have no chance. It is in vain that you deny the historical, judicial, and scientific facts about the genocide in Srebrenica and Bosnia and Herzegovina. In vain you misuse science against truth and justice by spreading lies. You have no chance in your immoral activity. We, the fighters for truth and justice, in cooperation with activists for human rights and freedoms and genocide researchers, standing on the right, human side of history, stand with our heads held high with truth and justice, with the survivors of genocide. Because the battle for Bosnia and Herzegovina is first won in the field of truth, justice, and institutional culture of remembrance.

In Canada, the lesson about aggression and genocide in Srebrenica and Bosnia and Herzegovina has already been learned. We have shown how powerful a weapon in the fight against hate crimes is education about the genocide in Srebrenica because hatred led to genocide. While you threaten, we neither kneel nor beg. We fight for truth and justice," the IGK reaction states.
