(Patria) - Hungary's decision to vote against the UN General Assembly resolution deeply worries the civilised world and especially friends of truth, justice and the culture of remembrance of the greatest crime after the Second World War - the genocide in Srebrenica.
This was announced by the Institute for Genocide Research Canada (IGK), from which they assessed that this is a shameful and anti-civilisational move by Hungary that means nothing for the process of adopting the UN General Assembly resolution - because it will be adopted.
"But it means that Hungary, by denying international justice, international courts and their final judgments, places itself on the historical pillar of anti-civilisational shame.
Hungary is playing with the feelings of surviving victims of genocide, rejecting respect for the rule of law. Restoring respect for the rule of law is imperative for achieving justice and lasting peace in a post-genocidal society.
By voting against the UN General Assembly Resolution, Hungary rejects the contribution to respecting the memory of the victims of genocide and rejects the confirmation of the truth about the genocide.
In this way, it opposes the cultivation of a culture of remembrance and support for reconciliation and lasting peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region.
By voting against the Resolution, the current political establishment of Hungary has closed its own access to the Srebrenica Genocide Memorial Centre", announced the IGK.
From this Institute, they emphasised that they will request from the competent authorities that the current political establishment of Hungary be banned from entering the Memorial Centre in Potočari.
"At the same time, we call on pro-Bosnian political leaders in Bosnia and Herzegovina to reconsider state relations with Hungary", stated the IGK Canada.
