Iftar of the Grand Mufti with Businesspeople: With Your Efforts, You Stand Shoulder to Shoulder with the Patriotic Forces of the State, Take Care of Your Workers

(Patria) - The Grand Mufti of the Islamic Community (IC) in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Husein-ef. Kavazović, organised a traditional iftar for Bosnian-Herzegovinian businesspeople in Sarajevo on Saturday.

On this occasion, the Grand Mufti thanked the guests for their attendance and reminded them of the role of businesspeople for Bosnia and Herzegovina and its residents.

“It is important to remind you that you, businesspeople, are the strength of every society and state. Without your success, it is not possible to make a successful progress in various fields, politics, culture, education and sports. You successfully navigate an unenviable business environment, burdened by numerous blockades that our state is going through,” said the Grand Mufti.

He emphasised that the success of businesspeople in Bosnia and Herzegovina is simultaneously a strong support for every form of struggle against attacks on the preservation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“With your effort and dedication, you stand shoulder to shoulder with all the patriotic forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the struggle for the preservation of its territorial integrity, full sovereignty and democratic order in these difficult times,” said the Grand Mufti.

On this occasion, the Grand Mufti informed the present businesspeople that the expert services of the Riyasat, the Office for Zakat and the Fatwa Emir have updated the zakat calculator and adapted it to the circumstances in which companies operate today, as well as the terminology used in financial reports. He explained that the precise calculation of zakat on assets can be performed using the application available at www.zekat.ba.

He also called on businesspeople to take care of the rights of those with whom they achieve their successes - their employees.

“Once again, I remind you of the religious obligation to take care of the rights of employees. Be just, gentle and compassionate towards them. These are difficult times we live in, people live with various burdens and challenges, different challenges. Be just towards each other, avoid haram and turn to the Lord of the worlds,” said the Grand Mufti.

He reminded of the importance of preserving the state and institutions, because with strong institutions it is possible to achieve success and develop society.

“Love, help and preserve the state and the Islamic Community. The state is a pledge of our existential survival, and the Community is a pledge of our spiritual and moral integrity,” emphasised the Grand Mufti.

He thanked the businesspeople for the support and assistance they provide to the Islamic Community, especially in their own congregations, but also in projects and actions at various organisational levels of the Community.
