Three attackers of the Croatian Consul and his brother identified in Banja Luka, misdemeanor proceedings to be initiated

(Patria) - Police officers of the Banja Luka Police Administration, by taking measures and actions, have shed light on an incident reported to the Banja Luka Police Administration on March 29 around 4:15 AM.

- In connection with the aforementioned, police officers identified that individuals V.V., D.B., and M.Z., all from Banja Luka, and individuals P.L. and D.L., citizens of Croatia, participated in the physical altercation - it was announced from the Banja Luka Police Administration.

After the completion and documentation of the case, misdemeanor proceedings will be initiated for the committed offenses of insult and fighting and physical assault.

The duty judge of the Basic Court in Banja Luka – Department for Misdemeanors was informed about all of the above.

The Consul General of the Republic of Croatia in Banja Luka, Zoran Piličić, and his brother were attacked, and they sustained minor injuries during the attack. A protest note also arrived from Croatia, and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Josip Brkić, spoke with the Croatian Ambassador Ivan Sabolić, and requested the prosecution of the attackers.

Piličić stated in an interview with the media that everything happened in the city center, and that the attackers chased them through the streets for half an hour, attacking and beating them.

He stated that the attackers hurled insults at the consul and his brother, calling them Ustaše. He confirmed that both are well and did not sustain serious physical injuries, but rather hematomas, bruises, and abrasions.
