ICTY: Appeals Chamber confirms Prlić's 25-year sentence

Jadranko Prlić, former leader of the Croatian Defence Council (HVO) and president of the Government of the self-proclaimed Croatian Republic of Herceg-Bosna, had his appeal rejected in its entirety, and the conviction for participation in a joint criminal enterprise was confirmed.

The Appeals Chamber confirmed his sentence of 25 years.

The Hague Tribunal is delivering the final verdict for six Bosnian Croat officials led by Jadranko Prlić, who were initially sentenced to a total of 111 years in prison.

They were convicted of persecution and other crimes committed against Muslims in western Herzegovina and central Bosnia, as part of a criminal enterprise that prosecutors called the creation of "Greater Croatia".
