(Patria) - For several years, fishermen from Kalesija have been going fishing in Herzegovina, specifically at Ramsko Lake.
One of them is Ibrahim Alić from Gornje Vukovije near Kalesija. He also has an annual permit for fishing at Ramsko Lake.
Fishery warden Redžo
On June 16 and 17, Ibrahim camped with his neighbor Asim Subašić at Ramsko Lake, in the place Klanac, municipality of Prozor. And towards the end of the camping, he faced problems.
- Fishery warden Redžo came, entered the tent, angry, and kicked a small barrel I was using as a table. On the table I had tea, milk, sugar, and everything spilled.
At that moment he said: "I've been waiting for you for three months." He started throwing things in the tent, saying: "Where is your weapon? You are a very dangerous man."
I was very scared because you can't trust people like that - said Ibrahim.
He recounts that Redžo also asked him why he set up the tent near the playground, even though it was about forty meters away from the playground fence. The playground was neglected, not even mowed.
- He entered the tent twice more and harassed me. I was in great fear and did not dare leave the tent because I was afraid something unforeseen would happen.
As it happened, I had an order from fishermen engaged in commercial fishing to procure as many nets as possible for fishing on the Sava River. The nets are used, coming from Croatia.
In the trailer I had nine nets. The gentleman called the police, and the police arrived at the scene and called me to come out of the tent - explains Ibrahim.
He confirmed to the police officers that the nets were his. The senior officer, the patrol leader, noted that the nets were dry. However, the fishery warden insisted on confiscating both the nets and the boat that was on the ground next to the trailer and was not in use.
Sold off belongings
Ibrahim notes that the boat is defective and the right side deflates in about 20 minutes. The nets and boat were loaded onto the trailer and taken to the Police Station in Prozor.
- I have a document about the temporarily confiscated goods. I want to note that the police and this gentleman to whom I gave my statement were very courteous, and I thank them for that.
I am a man who is 76 years old and have never been involved in illegal fishing. A man of my age and with my illnesses is not capable of setting nets alone. Younger people do that in pairs.
I note that the tent was illuminated both nights, from the outside and inside. Two years ago, my camping trailer with complete sport fishing equipment worth about 4,000 KM was stolen. That happened in October during the fishing ban period.
The trailer was set up in Redžo's area of responsibility. I firmly claim that Redžo and his cronies stole the trailer and sold off the belongings.
When I went to give my statement at the Police Station on June 17, Redžo stole three items from me: a special-purpose flashlight costing 120 KM, with which I can see a fishing float at 200 meters.
He stole a hand-forged axe, with a blade on one side and a hammer on the other, which I use for driving iron pegs, costing 50 KM, and he stole a special folding fishing knife costing 30 KM - says Ibrahim.
As he says, he has a witness for these stolen items, Asim Subašić, who was with him at the scene.
- Redžo thought he had scared me and that I would not dare to say this. When he stole these items, I firmly claim that he was involved in the theft of the camping trailer and all other items that were there - said the aggrieved fisherman from Gornje Vukovije, Ibrahim Alić, adding that he will file a lawsuit at the Basic Court in Tuzla.
