(Patria) - The Mayor of Sarajevo, Predrag Puharić, expressed the strongest condemnation of the terrorist attack in our brotherly and friendly city of Magdeburg, in
which innocent civilians lost their lives and were injured.
"This act of violence is further tragic due to the fact that the targets of the attack were people who were celebrating the upcoming Christmas holidays in the spirit of togetherness and joy. Such a crime, at moments that should be filled with peace and happiness, leaves deep sadness and indignation.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the deceased, and we send our sincerest wishes for a speedy and successful recovery to the injured.
The City of Sarajevo firmly stands with Mayor Simone Borris, the citizens of Magdeburg, the German people, and the Government, in the common fight against all forms of terrorism, hatred, and violence.
In the spirit of solidarity, we send a message of determination to jointly build a society in which peace, tolerance, and coexistence will be fundamental values," stated Mayor Puharić's message.
