Water supply to the City of Sarajevo is gradually normalising during daytime hours. Due to a short-term change in weather conditions, water consumption has decreased in all water supply zones, which has resulted in the situation with daily water accumulations in reservoirs being significantly better than in previous days, reports the Patria news agency.
These weather conditions have not affected the underground water accumulation at the sources, and all sources and underground accumulations continue to decline steadily, with no improvement expected without additional and more abundant rainfall. The inflow from the sources is identical to previous days, but water consumption in certain zones facing supply issues has significantly decreased.
Today, 7 September, in certain parts of the city, in the settlements of Sedrenik, Grdonj, Panjina kula, Breka, there will be disruptions in water supply from 11:00 to 15:00. This means that at some locations, certain floors of buildings and specific elevated parts of the mentioned settlements will experience water supply interruptions during the stated period.
In the rest of Sarajevo Canton, water supply during daytime hours is regular, and barring any unforeseen situations such as source turbidity or potential pump unit failures, we expect it to remain regular.
This primarily refers to the Peračko vrelo source, which supplies the municipality of Vogošća and part of the Kobilja glava reservoir zone.
Also, we note that during the night hours, from 24:00 to 05:00, water is supplied at reduced pressure in the following parts of the city: from Dolac Malta to Baščaršija, Otoka, Č. Vila, Alipašino polje, Dobrinja, Saraj polje, Rajlovac, Velešići, Pofalići, Kobilja Glava, Bare-Šip, Ciglane, Koševsko brdo, Alipašina and Koševo streets, Cicin Han and Soukbunar, Podhrastovi, Grdonj and Sedrenik.
This means that at some locations, certain floors of buildings and specific elevated parts of the mentioned water supply zones will experience water supply interruptions during the stated period.
We would like to take this opportunity to appeal to our esteemed consumers to use water as rationally as possible, to minimise watering of gardens and greenhouses, washing of yards, carpets, and other unnecessary waste of drinking water, in order to ensure sufficient water quantities in reservoir spaces and maintain as normal a water supply as possible, the Water and Sewerage Company announced.
