(Patria) - In August 2025, the Sarajevo Canton recorded 108,052 guests, representing an increase of 1.9% compared to the same month last year. A total of 262,431 overnight stays were realized, an increase of 5.5% compared to August 2024, according to data from the Sarajevo Canton Tourist Board.
TOP 10 countries by tourist arrivals are: Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Germany, United Kingdom, Italy, China, Croatia, Serbia, and the UAE.
TOP 10 countries by overnight stays: Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Kuwait, UAE, United Kingdom, Germany, USA, China, Croatia, and Italy.
We particularly highlight a significant increase in the number of domestic guests and overnight stays from Bosnia and Herzegovina during August.
A cumulative overview for the period January - August 2025 also shows an increase in arrivals and overnight stays:
- 582,190 guests – an increase of 7.2% compared to the same period in 2024.
- 1,326,926 overnight stays – an increase of 12.5% compared to last year.
"We are pleased that all the mentioned data show stable growth and a continuous increase in interest for the Sarajevo Canton as an attractive destination. The increase in the number of overnight stays is particularly encouraging, indicating longer tourist stays and higher spending, as well as a growing share of domestic guests. These data confirm that Sarajevo is successfully strengthening its position on the tourist map of the region and the world," said Haris Fazlagić, President of the Sarajevo Canton Tourist Board.
