Despite numerous warnings: RSNA deputies discuss Izetbegović's request

In Banja Luka, a session of the National Assembly of the Republika Srpska is underway, with the agenda including a Draft Declaration regarding the request for a constitutionality review of the Law on Holidays of the Republika Srpska before the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, submitted by the member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bakir Izetbegović, reports the Patria news agency.

The President of the National Assembly of the Republika Srpska, Nedeljko Čubrilović, earlier stated that the RS must be mindful of the decision the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina will make on this matter, which is why the expert public has prepared a declaration for the deputies to consider.

He reminded that the Bosniak member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bakir Izetbegović, submitted a request to the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina for a constitutionality review of the articles of the Law on Holidays of the Republika Srpska that designate January 9 as the Day of the Republic.

Both ruling and opposition deputies in the National Assembly of the Republika Srpska agree that they should adopt a declaration regarding the request for a constitutionality review of the Law on Holidays of the Republika Srpska before the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The session began with a "Question Time" during which deputies pose questions to members of the Government of the Republika Srpska.

At the start of the session, deputy mandates were awarded to Simuna Žakula from the SDS, Mihnet Okić and Murvet Barjaktarević from the "Homeland" Coalition, who took the solemn oath.

They received deputy mandates in place of Boris Jerinić from the SDS, Adil Osmanović and Edin Ramić from the "Homeland" Coalition, who have been appointed to new positions.

During the session, deputies will consider, in regular procedure, amendments to the laws on higher education and on expropriation.

Withdrawn from the agenda was the information on the implementation of the Strategy for the Development of Culture of the Republika Srpska for 2010-2015.

Deputies will vote on the completed agenda items on Friday, April 17, reported BNTV.
