Young people from Sarajevo to choose the EFA Audience Award winner

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Young film lovers from over 30 European countries, including Bosnia and Herzegovina, will once again choose the winner of the European Film Academy's Young Audience Award (EFA Young Audience Award).

The selection of the best film will take place in a modified format this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

While nothing can compare to the experience of watching a film in a cinema hall together with other film lovers, in times like these, it is most important to stop the virus from spreading further at a high speed.

Therefore, the selection of the Young Audience Award winner will take place in a completely virtual format this year, and young people aged 12 to 14 will have the opportunity to be part of the international young jury of Europe, announced the Sarajevo Film Festival.

The partners of the European Film Academy in Bosnia and Herzegovina in this project are, for the fourth year in a row, the Sarajevo Film Festival and the Meeting Point cinema.

The three films nominated for this year's European Film Academy Young Audience Award are ROCCA CHANGES THE WORLD by Katja Benrath, MY EXTRAORDINARY SUMMER WITH TESS by Steven Wouterlood, and MY BROTHER CHASES DINOSAURS by Stefano Cipani.

All three films observe our world from a new and unusual perspective and offer an optimistic vision of the future.

Online voting for the best film will be held on April 26. Participants in the event will also have the opportunity to engage in online film discussions with their peers, led by moderators.

By transferring this project to digital platforms, young people are enabled to spend their time in home isolation meaningfully, and through the joint activities of the project, they continue to develop a sense of belonging to the community of film lovers.

All this with the hope that we will soon gather again in cinema halls and watch films with popcorn and good company!
