(Patria) - (Patria) - From April 5, 1992, the city of Sarajevo was under siege by the forces of the Bosnian Serb army. Throughout the siege, the Bosnian Serb army and its operatives conducted a systematic campaign of deliberately targeting civilians with snipers.
The sniper campaign terrorized the civilian population of Sarajevo, resulting in a significant number of civilian casualties, killed and wounded, including women, children, and the elderly.
Between May 5, 1992, and May 31, 1995, snipers systematically, unlawfully, and deliberately killed and wounded civilians in the Sarajevo area, among them children:
Elma Jakupović, 2 years old, at 17 Jukićeva Street, July 20, 1993.
Elvedina Čolić, 4 years old, at Kobilja Glava, August 8, 1993.
Adnan Kasapović, 16 years old, at Dj. A. Kuna Street, October 24, 1994.
Nermina Omerović, 11 years old, at Đire Daničića Street, November 8, 1994.
They too are witnesses to the systematic and organized terror against citizens that began on January 9, 1992.
The sentences at the beginning of the text are part of the indictment against Radovan Karadžić and Ratko Mladić, but for the systematic terrorization of Sarajevo by snipers, justice has not yet reached the criminals.
