House of Peoples delegates also discuss the Law on the Constitutional Court

The session of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina will be held on February 9, and among other items, delegates will have before them the Proposal for amendments to the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina (first reading), proposed by delegates from the Serbian People's Club, as well as their Proposal for the Law on the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina (first reading), writes the Patria news agency.

We remind you that at the session of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, these two proposals received a negative opinion from the Constitutional and Legal Commission, but due to the lack of an entity majority, this opinion was rejected, and the laws were sent for further harmonization before the Collegium of the House of Representatives.

The essence of the amendments to these laws is that representatives from the Republika Srpska want to remove the article of the law that prescribes prison sentences for non-compliance with decisions of the Constitutional Court and to remove foreign judges from it.

Although there is no constitutional basis, deputies and delegates from the Serbian people are not giving up on this proposal, and a heated debate on this issue will certainly take place in the House of Peoples as well.
