(Patria) - The second leg match of the second qualifying round of the Conference League between Borac and Austria Vienna was played in Banja Luka, and after a lot of excitement, the guests advanced, who celebrated again, this time with 2:1.
Borac was defeated 1:0 in Vienna in the first match seven days ago, with a goal by Haris Tabaković, but hoped that tonight, with great support from the stands, they would achieve a favorable result and cause a small sensation.
And things looked good on the field for about 50 minutes, Borac even led, but then the Austrians quickly came back and decided the winner of this tie.
At the start of the match, Borac had two great chances. First, Šušić had an opportunity, and then Mihajlović, but Austria's net did not shake.
Borac continued with the initial pressure and was the better team on the field for about 20 minutes, after which the Austrians freed themselves and started attacking much more.
At the end of the first half, Ćetković made several saves and managed to save Borac, and in one situation, Predragović practically cleared the ball from the goal line.
In the 41st minute, a rocket from BiH international Zoran Kvržić, but the crossbar saved the Austrians. In the fifth minute of the second half, everything erupted at the City Stadium in Banja Luka. Colombian Cortes jumped high and headed the ball into the net of the visitors from Vienna after a cross from Kvržić.
The joy of the Banja Luka team lasted only three minutes. After a great play by the visitors, Gruber scored a goal to make it 1:1. Stojan Vranješ had a clear chance after Borac's counter-attack, he missed, and then in the 65th minute, Polster scored a goal for the TV highlights, completing Austria's comeback.
In the 70th minute, the quick Cortes threatened with a shot from an angle on the left side, but he was blocked and the ball only went into a corner. Shortly after, Kulašin escaped his defenders, but the visiting goalkeeper saved his lob attempt.
Until the end of the match, things did not change, and Austria advanced to the third qualifying round of the Conference League, and it must be said deservedly, although Borac deserved all the praise for what they showed in these two matches against the favored Austrians.
Given that Sarajevo and Željezničar were eliminated earlier, Zrinjski remains the only BiH representative in Europe.
