Huskić signs 7 contracts: Young people in Tešanj have shown entrepreneurial spirit

Mayor of Tešanj municipality Suad Huskić today, within the project 'Business Ideas of the Young', signed incentive contracts for starting their own businesses with 7 future entrepreneurs.

The signing of the contracts was attended by, among others, the Chairman of the Tešanj Municipal Council Senad Subašić, members of the Commission that evaluated the quality of business ideas, businessmen, and previous beneficiaries of funds from this project, reports the Patria news agency.

The project 'Business Ideas of the Young' was launched in 2011. The Municipality has so far invested around 225,000 KM in its implementation, which has launched 31 companies and created 54 new jobs to date. Under this model, the Municipality finances the costs of company registration, contributions for part of the employees for a period of up to 3 years, and in certain cases, the Municipality has financed the costs of renting business premises.

-We are very proud of this project, and in the five years of its implementation, young people in Tešanj have shown their business creativity and confirmed that they have a developed entrepreneurial spirit. Young people are the future, and an environment where young people have the chance to realize their own dreams for their own benefit and that of the entire community is desirable and a partner for the future for any serious investment. In addition, our example has been noticed much more widely, both by domestic institutions that care about young people and by relevant international associations, said Mayor Huskić.

Best initiatives

The model developed by the Tešanj Municipality has been recognized by the Institute for Youth Development KULT, and they have transferred this model to 6 other municipalities in BiH. In addition, they have prepared a Guide for the application of this model of support for start-up businesses, which contains forms, instructions, and documents needed for implementation. Thus, the experience and good practice of Tešanj have been transferred to all other municipalities in BiH that are interested in using such experiences.

Furthermore, the Network of Associations of Local Authorities of South-East Europe (NALAS) in its new publication 'Best Initiatives for Gender Equality and Youth' has published the good practice of the Tešanj Municipality on the topic 'Business Ideas of the Young'. The good practice of the Tešanj Municipality has been recognized as one of the best in South-East Europe. This year, within the project 'Business Ideas of the Young', a total of 13 business ideas were submitted, and after evaluation by a Commission composed of businessmen, 7 of the most successful were selected to receive support for starting their own businesses.
