Hurtić received a delegation from the Roma Association 'Euro Rom'

(Patria) - Minister of Human Rights and Refugees of Bosnia and Herzegovina Sevlid Hurtić, today, July 26, 2023, received a delegation from the Roma Association „Euro Rom“ from Tuzla, led by long-time activist Nedžad Jusić.


The reason for the meeting was the prestigious European Union Award for Roma Integration in the Western Balkans and Turkey for 2023, which Jusić recently received in Brussels, as well as issues concerning the position of the Roma population in our country.


Jusić and other members of the delegation informed Minister Hurtić about the activities and work of this association, which was founded in 2004, stating that they have implemented around 10 million KM through various projects so far.

The focus of this association's work is on Roma education, promotion of
cultural identity, housing, but also other important areas.


Minister Hurtić stated that the Council of Ministers, at its yesterday's session, adopted the Decision on the manner of using grants to the Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees of Bosnia and Herzegovina for 2023, and that significant funds are allocated for Roma housing, employment, healthcare, and education.

He emphasized the importance of implementing these funds, which will contribute to improving the overall position of the Roma population in our country.


The delegation of the Roma Association „Euro Rom“ informed Minister Hurtić about the upcoming commemoration of the Day of Remembrance of Roma Victims of the Holocaust, as well as about the initiative and idea to build a Roma cultural center in Tuzla.
