Charity bullfight: 5,000 KM collected for ill Šabanović

Despite the great heat, the traditional bullfight was held in Putovići, near Zenica. Besides the inevitable bullfights, there was no shortage of fun and dancing, and all visitors could also enjoy catering specialties, reports a reporter of the Patria News Agency.

Tradition in Putovići

The bullfight in Putovići is one of the most famous in Bosnia and Herzegovina and has been held since 1950. Just under 2,000 people watched the fights of 32 of the strongest bulls. Behind the organization are the members of the Association Club of Breeders and Supporters of the Bosnian Cattle Buša and Preservation of Folk Customs "GOLDEN FAST HORN" Zenica.

- Every other week in August, a bullfight is held in the Putovići fields. These fields have been considered a place where only the fittest bulls come for decades, and it is the same this year. We are a little late this year due to the month of Ramadan - said the president of the association, Almin Karić.

This year, people from all over BiH gathered in Putovići, 32 bulls from Donji Vakuf, Vareš, Bugojno, Kanj, Jajce, Kiseljak and many other cities. The organizers made sure there was no shortage of accompanying content, so visitors joined in the kolo, forgetting their daily problems for a short while.

16 winners, of which the best bulls are: Bidžo, Baljota and Toro.

Charity Bullfight

This year, the bullfight in Putovići was of a humanitarian nature, collecting money for the ill Vedad Šabanović. All the money from the tickets goes to Vedad. In addition, people donated money all the time and about 5,000 KM was collected.

- I came here only for the guy. I wish enough money would be collected, the guy is an athlete, and I wish he would get well. I hope everything will be as it should be - said Mirnes Bajramović, one of the participants.

The mother of the ill Vedad, Ramzija Šabanović, said that her son suffers from leukemia.

- He is currently in Turkey. Vedad needs about 500,000 KM. I would like to take this opportunity to thank these young people for organizing - concluded the mother of the ill Vedad, Ramzija Šabanović.
