Huawei responds: The US underestimated us, we will be on top of the world

(Patria) – The founder of Chinese company Huawei, Ren Zhengfei, stated that the conflict with the United States was inevitable on the company's path to 'conquer the world'.

Reflecting on the past weeks of dramatic crisis for Huawei, during which the company suffered major blows due to, among other things, the ban on doing business with the US and American companies, a trend also adopted by Australia and Great Britain, as well as Google, Zhengfei commented:

- Huawei 5G will not be compromised. When it comes to 5G technologies, no one will be able to catch up with us in the next few years.

He told Chinese television that everyone in the company had sacrificed themselves and their families for their ideal, 'to be on top of the world. To achieve that ideal, sooner or later a conflict with the US had to happen'.

We recall, President Trump last Thursday signed an executive order banning business with 'foreign adversaries', which undoubtedly includes Huawei, and they ended up on the trade 'blacklist'.

Google announced on Monday that it will restrict Huawei's access to Android, on which the company's mobile devices depend, and Reuters reported the day before that Google had stopped cooperation with Huawei in all segments requiring the transfer of hardware, software, and technical services, except those that are publicly available.

The Guardian writes that the US relaxed some restrictions on Monday, and for the next 90 days, Huawei will be able to buy American products to maintain existing networks and enable software updates for Huawei mobile phones.

Half of the chips used by Huawei come from the US, while the rest are produced by the company itself.

The US intelligence agency believes that the Chinese military is behind Huawei and that the telecom giant could easily be put in a position to conduct intelligence work for Beijing given its proximity to the operational networks of 'rival countries'.

The US states that this was the reason to convince its closest allies to reject Huawei technology.

The conflict is occurring amid the US-China trade war.
