Croatia qualified for the Euros

(Patria) - The Croatian national football team has qualified for the European Championship which will be played next year in Germany.

Zlatko Dalić's protégés in Maksimir tonight in the last qualifying match defeated Armenia with a minimal 1:0.

The winning goal for the Vatreni against the fighting and disciplined Armenians was scored by Ante Budimir, a 32-year-old striker born in Zenica, who found the opponent's net in the 43rd minute.

This will be Croatia's seventh appearance at the Euros, and the sixth in a row, reports Faktor.

Since Croatia's independence, the Vatreni have only missed one European Championship - that of 2000 in Belgium and the Netherlands.

Turkey finished the qualifiers as first in the group with 17 points. Croatia is second with 16, while Wales has 12. Armenia is fourth with eight, and Latvia is last with three points.

As a reminder, on Monday, Italy, Slovenia, and the Czech Republic secured their visas for the Euros.

France, England, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, the Netherlands, Turkey, Scotland, Denmark, Switzerland, Albania, Austria, Romania, Hungary, Serbia, Slovakia, and hosts Germany had previously secured their places at the Euros.

The last three tickets for the Euros will be distributed in March next year when the play-offs are scheduled, in which the Dragons will also participate.
