Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović announced her intention to reintroduce compulsory military service in Croatia during her presidential campaign. In this move, Kolinda is supported by the head of HDZ, Tomislav Karamarko, who believes that Croatia needs people who are "ready and trained to defend the homeland at any moment," regardless of the existence of a professional army, reports the Patria news agency.
In an Index poll, they asked whether you support the reintroduction of compulsory military service, and by 7:30 AM, 18,441 people had responded to the question.
As many as 67.63 percent of those who participated in the poll said they were against returning to compulsory military service, while the remaining 32.37 percent supported Grabar-Kitarović in reinstating compulsory military service in Croatia.
