Hoyt Yee: Take your frustrations to the ballot box!

We call on BiH voters to take their frustrations and anger with them when they vote in the upcoming October elections, stated US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Brian Hoyt Yee, speaking about Bosnia and Herzegovina. Hoyt Yee spoke before the Commission on Security and Cooperation, the so-called US Helsinki Commission, two days ago, at a conference dedicated to the Western Balkans.

- Protests are an expression of people's dissatisfaction with politicians who only care about themselves, against bad governance and poor economic conditions. They also show the need for the international community to review its engagement in BiH and consider whether a new approach is needed - said Hoyt Yee.

He reiterated that the US is disappointed by the blockade of processes in Bosnia and Herzegovina, despite the constant support provided by both the US and the EU. Hoyt Yee criticized the current BiH political leaders for their unwillingness to compromise. Member of the European Parliament Tanja Fajon, and Kurt Walker from the McCain Institute for Leadership also spoke at the same conference.
