WILL KRIŠTO RESIGN? Special session of the BiH PA: Questions about discrimination against Bosniaks and appointments in the Council of Ministers

(Patria) - A special joint session of both houses of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH
has been scheduled for November 27.

At this session, MPs and delegates have the opportunity to ask questions to members of the Council of Ministers of BiH about current issues and problems in the work of institutions, including questions about compliance with the Constitution and laws, proportional representation of constituent peoples, and other key topics of interest to the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Some questions have already been submitted, and so far, most have been directed to Borjana Krišto, Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of BiH.

MP Milan Dunović directly asks Krišto why the Minister of Security of BiH has not been appointed.

Delegate Džemal Smajić's somewhat longer question is directed to Elmedin Konaković, Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH.

Contrary to the Constitution and legal norms on proportional representation of constituent peoples and Others, the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina has appointed 16 directors and the Secretary General of the Council of Ministers in the current mandate.

Also, from January 2023 to date, 24 Serbs, 15 Croats, and only 11 Bosniaks have been hired for permanent positions as senior civil servants, which represents only one fifth and significantly increases the imbalance of Bosniaks in management positions.

"Why did Minister Konaković, contrary to the Constitution and laws of Bosnia and Herzegovina which establish proportional representation of constituent peoples in BiH institutions, vote for the appointment of only three Bosniaks out of a total of 17 heads of institutions, and what measures will Bosniak ministers in the Council of Ministers take to finally stop the discrimination and employment to the detriment of Bosniaks in BiH institutions, especially the lack of Bosniaks in management positions?", Smajić will ask.
