Will fees for committee work finally be abolished today?

Members of the House of Representatives today also discussed the Proposal on Amendments to the Law on Salaries and Allowances in BiH Institutions (second reading), proposed by Damir Arnaut (SBB), writes the Patria news agency.

Arnaut said that the law has passed all committee stages and that if adopted today, it will finally be possible to save a significant amount of money.

- I am satisfied with what the Finance and Budget Committee has done, which is to prioritize the interests of citizens, namely reducing spending, while setting aside entity rights. I wish to note that the Committee submitted two amendments, signed by seven committee members, after colleagues Pandurević, Sokolović, and Isaković withdrew their amendments - Arnaut emphasized.

He added that he hopes the white bread and fees for committee work during working hours will finally be abolished.

- As a conclusion, I want to remind that by abolishing the white bread and this proposal to abolish fees, we will achieve a sum far greater than what the four of us from the SBB Club earn. Imagine if every MP did that, we would cost nothing - Arnaut added.

Momčilo Novaković said he has a number of dilemmas regarding this law, namely that they tasked the Council of Ministers with drafting a comprehensive text on this Law.

- Partial laws do not solve the overall problem. Does this way of working mean that next week we will have a new law with amendments, without taking care to consider everything comprehensively? Another thing that is not clear to me is the principle of working hours. Is working time the only principle for someone's earnings - Novaković pointed out, stating that the principle of fairness must also be respected.
