Urgent adoption of the law on adult education

The urgent adoption of the law on adult education in Sarajevo Canton was the reason for today's meeting between the Minister of Education, Science and Youth Elvir Kazazović and the Director of the Federal Employment Bureau Kenan Rešo and the Head of the Employment Sector of this Bureau Omer Korjenić, reports the BiH news agency Patria.

The problems that exist in Sarajevo Canton due to the absence of this law were discussed, and the slowness of the formal education system and the recognition of informal and non-formal education were pointed out.

Director Rešo, on this occasion, pointed out the current problems in the labor market, i.e., the mismatch between education policy and the needs of the labor market.

These are the reasons why the participants of today's meeting agreed that it is necessary to proceed with the drafting and adoption of the said law as soon as possible.

- The Law on Adult Education will ensure education that includes upskilling and reskilling of unemployed persons - said Minister Kazazović, adding that it is necessary to improve cooperation between competent educational authorities, education providers, employers, and employment bureaus and services, which represent key links in the entire process in this chain.
