Helicopter of the Armed Forces of BiH extinguishes fire on inaccessible terrain in Jablanica

(Patria) - Since the morning hours of May 30, 2026, a UH-1H II helicopter from the 2nd Helicopter Squadron of the Air Force and Air Defense Brigade of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina has been actively involved in extinguishing a large forest fire in the municipality of Jablanica.

Firefighting activities continued in the afternoon hours.

The fire broke out on inaccessible terrain in the municipality of Jablanica, which is why the Minister of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Zukan Helez, based on the approval of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, issued an order for the engagement of a helicopter of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which was immediately dispatched to extinguish the fire from the air.

Members of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina are carrying out their task professionally, responsibly and with dedication, with the aim of bringing the fire under control as soon as possible and preventing its further spread.

The Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina continue to provide support to civilian structures in firefighting, acting in accordance with their available capacities and in very complex weather conditions, once again confirming their readiness to serve all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
