Helez in Bihać: Army of RBiH and 5th Corps Originated from the People

(Patria) - BiH Minister of Defence Zukan Helez led a delegation of the Ministry of Defence and Armed Forces of BiH at a ceremonial event marking the Anniversary of the formation of the 5th Corps of the Army of RBiH, which was held today in Bihać.

In addition to Minister Helez, the delegation of the MoD and AF BiH included Chief of the Joint Staff of the AF BiH, Lieutenant General Senad Mašović, Head of the Minister's Cabinet Salko Beba, Inspector General of the MoD BiH Brigadier General Mirsad Ahmić, Commander of the Tactical Support Brigade of the AF BiH Brigadier Jasmin Čajić, Commander of the 5th Infantry Brigade Brigadier Emir Kliko, and other officials of the MoD and AF BiH.

In his address at the ceremonial academy, Helez congratulated the attendees, emphasizing that the Army of RBiH, as well as its 5th Corps, originated from the people.

- In difficult times, an army developed from the people, and the people in these areas wanted to be free, not oppressed, they wanted to preserve their lives, their traditions and culture, and their homeland.

When a people desires this, and history has shown it, then there is no aggressor who can defeat them. This is evidenced by the path and heroic struggle of the 5th Corps of the Army of RBiH - Helez said.

He emphasizes that due to its organization, bravery, and sacrifice, the 5th Corps of the Army of RBiH was nicknamed "Heavenly Force" by the people.

- Today, as we again live in turbulent and uncertain times, with the aggression against Ukraine, the Middle East boiling, and a new architecture of global relations being formed, the Army of RBiH, or rather its idea and legacy, should be a guide on how to defend and preserve our only state, Bosnia and Herzegovina - Helez concluded his address.

Minister Helez also met today with the Prime Minister of the Una-Sana Canton, Mustafa Ružnić, and the mayors of the municipalities of USK. The meeting discussed possible forms of cooperation between the MoD and AF BiH with the municipalities and the Government of USK.
