(Patria) - After the Deputy Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ivica Bošnjak (HDZ), unilaterally decided today to temporarily open the new Gradiška Border Crossing (GP), this decision was implemented this evening.
The new Gradiška Border Crossing, where the first cars passed through this evening, will remain temporarily open until August.
Previously, the Management Board (UO) of the Indirect Taxation Authority (UIO) of BiH did not reach a consensus on the proposal to open the new Gradiška Border Crossing.
Member Zijad Krnjić voted against it because the members from Republika Srpska refused to support the decision on debt settlement between RS and the Federation of BiH, based on VAT.
The Minister of Finance and Treasury of BiH, Srđan Amidžić (SNSD), then stated that he would open the new Gradiška Border Crossing, "come what may".
Given the speed of implementing the solution brought by Bošnjak, all steps between the representatives of HDZ and SNSD were previously elaborated in detail.
We remind you that the pedestrian walkway on the bridge near the Gradiška Border Crossing collapsed last night after midnight, but the bridge remained undamaged.
