HDZ and SNSD support attack on BiH sovereignty

(Patria) - At the 5th session of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PSBiH), the negative opinion of the Constitutional-Legal Committee on the Bill on Amendments to the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, proposed in the first reading by representatives Milan Dunović, Zlatan Begić, and Vlatko Glavaš, was not accepted. In accordance with the Rules of Procedure of the House, the Constitutional-Legal Committee is tasked with submitting a new opinion on this Bill.

16 representatives voted "for", 20 "against", while one representative abstained, thus a general majority was not achieved, and the committee is therefore obliged to prepare a new opinion on this proposal.

Otherwise, representatives of HDZ and SNSD did not support the amendments to the Criminal Code that treat an attack on BiH sovereignty as a criminal offense. Their vote prevented representatives from voting on the content of the law.

During the discussion, Sabina Ćudić (Naša stranka) and Mia Abazović (NIP) also criticized the proposed law.

They asked the proposers what would happen to the OHR, the European Commission, embassies, the Venice Commission, and other commissions if the amendments to the law were adopted.

They believe that prosecutors, acting on the amendments to the Criminal Code proposed by DF, would "imprison everyone". Predrag Kožul (HDZ) and SNSD representatives also criticized the proposal.

"This house is a lay body, no professional qualifications are needed to be elected. Every subject of both international and domestic law is obliged to respect the provisions of the BiH Constitution. Predrag Kožul has confused the transfer of sovereignty with the rule of law. The OHR is the supreme authority for the civilian part of Dayton. This, of course, also applies to the High Representative when he agrees with the Prime Minister of a neighboring country on amendments to the Constitution and the Election Law of BiH. By doing so, he violates his official duty. Therefore, as long as the Dayton Agreement exists, Annex 10 will also exist, without it there is no Dayton, with the fact that everyone should behave in accordance with the principle of the rule of law. We are not transferring sovereignty and should not, if we are talking with the EU delegation. The supreme original holder of this state are the citizens who elected us to protect the sovereignty of this country," said DF representative Zlatan Begić.
