Hasanović signs decision on financing early elections in RS but lacks the seal

(Patria) - Deputy Minister of Finance and Treasury of BiH Muhamed Hasanović announced today on social networks that the work of the Ministry he heads is blocked, and the reasons for this lie in the political decisions of Milorad Dodik and Minister Srđan Amidžić.

"I have signed the decision on financing early elections, but the minister refuses to authenticate it with the official seal, thus preventing its implementation. My signature has never been disputed; the delays are caused by procedural obstructions within the Ministry itself.

I want to emphasize that when it comes to paying 120 million KM in the Viaduct case, there were never any problems with the seal or my signature. However, when it comes to securing 6.4 million KM for the organization of early elections, because it is tied to the political fate of Milorad Dodik – a fugitive from justice and former president of RS – then a problem arises.

For three days, not a single document has left the Ministry, with the explanation that the seal is locked. In practice, this means that all orders, payments, and documents are stuck in the minister's office. Consequently, the financing of BiH institutions is currently halted, which jeopardizes their work and the lawful execution of the budget.

According to our information, the seal should be available tomorrow, however, given that they have been continuously postponing us since Monday, we can no longer trust such announcements.

Since Monday, I have been making efforts to obtain the necessary documentation, and now I am also facing delays regarding the availability of the seal.

With such moves, the politics of RS is reduced to a cult of personality and an attempt to preserve the political power of one man, instead of working in the interest of the citizens and institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina must not be hostages of personal interests, but must serve the citizens and strengthen trust in the rule of law.

I call on the competent institutions to react and prevent further obstructions that jeopardize the work of state bodies and the rights of citizens," Hasanović stated in his Facebook post.
