Hasanović signs instruction to secure 24 million KM for the 2026 General Elections

(Patria) - Deputy Minister of Finance and Treasury of BiH Muhamed Hasanović today signed an instruction to secure 24 million KM for the implementation of the 2026 General Elections.

"While Srđan Amidžić remained silent, procrastinated, and refused to approve funds for the elections as requested by the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina, I took responsibility and ensured that the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina can go to the polls. That is the essence of politics: you either protect the state or you block it. There is no middle ground.

For months, we have been listening to stories about patriotism from those who are the first to tear down institutions when state decisions do not suit them. They are the loudest when they insult, provoke, and act tough in front of cameras, but when the moment comes to make a decision in the interest of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, responsibility and courage disappear, and institutions become a problem for them.

I did not allow the Ministry of Finance and Treasury of BiH to be turned into a tool for blackmail and blockades. Bosnia and Herzegovina is not anyone's prey, nor will the elections depend on the whim of any minister," Hasanović stated.

He emphasized that he is particularly proud to be part of the process through which Bosnia and Herzegovina is introducing new electoral technologies for the first time by securing 112 million KM for a more transparent and fairer electoral process.

"With today's decision to secure an additional 24 million KM, the complete election financing process has been finalized. This is a concrete result of work for the state, not empty talk for television appearances. Today also showed how correct my decision was to refuse the position of director of the Tax Administration of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and remain in the position of Deputy Minister of Finance and Treasury of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Had I not stayed, these funds would likely have been subject to blockades and political games.

Some politicians try every day to prove that Bosnia and Herzegovina cannot function. I believe the exact opposite, and that is why I put every signature in service of the state, its institutions, and the rights of citizens.

Bosnia and Herzegovina will outlive all blockades, all obstructions, and all petty politicians who think they can stop the state," Hasanović stated.
