Hamdija Lipovača charged with abuse of office

Members of the Federal Police Administration have arrested the Prime Minister of the Una-Sana Canton, Hamdija Lipovača, it has been confirmed for the BH News Agency Patria. According to Patria agency, Lipovača was arrested at his home.

Police are searching several locations in the Bihać area, one of which is the Una-Sana Canton Government building. The operation is being carried out under the order of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Bihać. As we learn, Lipovača is charged with abuse of official position.

As stated by the spokesperson for the Una-Sana Canton Prosecutor's Office, Adnan Tulić, the arrest was carried out by order of this Prosecutor's Office.

- Due to the investigation, I cannot provide more information. We will have more details during the day - Tulić told Patria.

Around 11 AM, the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Una-Sana Canton posted a statement on its website regarding Lipovača's arrest today.

- Members of the Federal Police Administration, acting on the order of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Una-Sana Canton in Bihać, have deprived Hamdija Lipovača, Prime Minister of the Una-Sana Canton Government, of his liberty due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of Abuse of Office or Authority under Article 383 of the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Due to the interest of the investigation, the public will be informed in a timely manner about all further information - the statement reads.

NEW ARRESTS

In the afternoon, following the deprivation of liberty of Hamdija Lipovača, Prime Minister of the Una-Sana Canton Government, members of the Federal Police Administration, acting on the order of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Una-Sana Canton in Bihać, also deprived Alen Gluhalić, director of Agra d.o.o., of his liberty due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that he, together with the suspect Hamdija Lipovača, committed the criminal offense of Abuse of Office or Authority under Article 383 of the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Due to the interest of the investigation, the public will be informed in a timely manner about all further information - it was announced from the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Una-Sana Canton.
