Hadžibegić: We will aim to get the maximum out of every match

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - In the first two rounds, the "eagles" will visit Cyprus and Luxembourg.

Coach Faruk Hadžibegić had eight players available at the first training session, while the rest of the team will join tomorrow and the day after tomorrow.

"It's fortunate that football has returned, and so we are returning to our work with satisfaction. The coronavirus has caused a lot of damage, but if we want to get out of this, from a sporting perspective, it's best not to talk about the problems that have arisen. We need to turn the page, look to the future, to the matches, to the players' health, to try to be as complete as possible," Hadžibegić told reporters at a briefing.

Our best national team has personnel problems again this time.

"Injuries are an integral part of the game, and I deeply regret that Marko Vešović got injured and couldn't be with us. He will be greatly missed on the field and as a colleague in the locker room. Žarko Tomašević also got injured. But, that's how it is. No one forced us to come here, we did it with all our hearts. We will aim to get the maximum out of all matches," the coach added.

Stefan Mugoša will also not be playing in the opening matches of the Nations League, as his club Incheon did not allow him to respond to the national team's call-up.

"We couldn't do anything about Mugoša. FIFA allowed his club to forbid him from coming here. There was no other solution but to accept that situation. I hope this will be the only such case. He is very much needed by the national team. I am sorry he is not with us," explained Hadžibegić, who commented on the upcoming opponents.

"Both national teams have changed coaches. If we talk about Cyprus, as the first next opponent, we will focus on the work of their coach when he was a coach in Belgium. We will see if they will play like that with their new national team. The opponents deserve attention, but we have to find a solution to beat them," said Hadžibegić.

The "eagles" will train again tomorrow at 7 PM at the FSCG Training Camp, and a briefing for media representatives will be held half an hour earlier.
