Hadžibajrić: In 2014, we worked on projects that mean life to every resident

At the annual press conference held in the Stari Grad Municipality, the results from 2014 were summarized, and they mostly relate to infrastructure projects, cultural-historical heritage, renovation and construction of educational and auxiliary facilities, writes the Bosnian news agency Patria.

As stated by the mayor Ibrahim Hadžibajrić, the year was difficult, but the planned budget for this year was realized. The new budget proposal will be presented at the session of the Municipal Council on December 29.

- For the next year, we have planned six projects that will make the Stari Grad Municipality the largest construction site - said Hadžibajrić.

The most significant projects in 2014 are the construction of a playground in two phases on Iza gaja Street, Saburina kuća, and the archaeological park At mejdan.

- The budget for 2014 went to projects that mean life to every resident, especially considering that the infrastructure in this municipality is very old and has not been changed in the last 50 to 70 years. If a complete reconstruction of the Baščaršija Square takes place, you will see that there are still even wooden pipes from the Ottoman period - said Hadžibajrić.

The Baščaršija Square was renovated in places where it was damaged, but it is still unknown whether a complete reconstruction will be carried out.

The mayor also pointed out that out of six projects, they have five ready, not conceptual, but execution projects. The sixth project is the construction of the Stari Grad Health Center. One of the more significant projects in 2014 is the regulation of the Mošćanica riverbed.

- We did that in two phases, the value is a few hundred thousand marks. We did that in cooperation with the Environmental Protection Fund. Otherwise, we also worked on repairing flood damage, but thanks to the cleaning of rivers and riverbeds in previous years, we did not have major flood damage - said Hadžibajrić, writes Patria.

In 2015, the reconstruction of Strošići Street in Vratnik is planned. The cooperation achieved with the Istočni Stari Grad Municipality continues next year, writes NAP.
