(Patria) - Norway's footballers successfully opened their World Cup campaign with a 4-1 victory over Iraq at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough.
The first goal was scored by Erling Haaland in the 29th minute, assisted by Wolfe. Iraq equalised through Hussein ten minutes later, but Haaland restored Norway's lead with his second goal in the 43rd minute just before half-time.
In the second half, Iraq failed to pose a serious threat, and Norway confirmed their dominance with goals from Ostigard in the 76th minute and Thorstvedt in stoppage time to make the final score 4-1.
After the first round, Norway shares the top of Group I with France, while Iraq and Senegal are without points.
