Governor Softić and Swiss Ambassador Discuss Continuation of Cooperation

The Ambassador of Switzerland, Heinrich Maurer, visited the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBH) today, where he met with CBBH Governor Dr. Senad Softić, with whom he discussed forms of cooperation and Switzerland's activities on various projects in BiH in recent years, reports the Patria News Agency.

The Governor of CBBH and the Swiss Ambassador emphasized the existing interest in continuing the cooperation that began in 2013, with the signing of the Agreement on the Bilateral Aid and Capacity Building Program, which marked the beginning of the implementation of a three-year technical cooperation project (2014-2016).

The program is implemented by the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva. The goal of the program is to provide CBBH with access to technical expertise and international practices in the following areas: monetary policy, financial market development/improvement of foreign exchange reserve management processes, statistics, and human resource management through training in econometrics, financial model development, improvement of statistical data analysis quality, and enhancement of analytical and research capacities.

Governor Softić and Ambassador Maurer assessed the cooperation so far as very successful, within which, among other things, a series of workshops from various fields have been held by renowned international lecturers.

CBBH aims to continue improving its operations through various forms of knowledge enhancement in the business areas of central banking, and the proposal of CBBH Governor Dr. Senad Softić for the extension of the Agreement into 2017 has been supported, it was announced from CBBH.
