Dense fog reduces visibility on roads in BiH, drivers urged to be cautious

(Patria) - Dense fog reduces visibility on sections in valleys and along river courses.

On some sections, visibility is reduced to only about 20 meters.

We highlight roads in the areas of: Travnik, Donji Vakuf, Prijedor, Jajce, Kiseljak, Vitez, Livno, Kupres, Tomislavgrad, Glamoč, Bosanski Grahovo, Orašje, Odžak, Mostar, Čapljina, Kladanj, Kalesija, Banovići, the entire section of the A-1 highway Zenica-Bradina, on the Konjic-Jablanica-Prozor route, as well as in the wider Sarajevo area.

In most of the country, the roads are dry or occasionally wet.

The traffic flow is lighter this morning, but we expect increased traffic intensity during the day, especially in larger urban centers where public New Year's Eve celebrations are planned.

WE URGE DRIVERS NOT TO DRIVE IF THEY HAVE CONSUMED ALCOHOL TODAY, AND ESPECIALLY TONIGHT ON NEW YEAR'S EVE. THINK ABOUT YOUR LIFE AND THE LIVES OF OTHER ROAD USERS. IF YOU ARE DRIVING, BE AS CAUTIOUS AS POSSIBLE AND MAINTAIN A SAFE DISTANCE BETWEEN VEHICLES.

Due to frequent rockfalls on the road, we highlight the following routes: Turbe-Karanovac, Crna Rijeka-Jajce-Donji Vakuf, Bugojno-Kupres and Sarajevo-Foča, as well as the Rostovo pass (Novi Travnik-Bugojno) and Makljen pass (Prozor-Gornji Vakuf/Uskoplje).

Due to ongoing works, we highlight the Ključ-Sanski Most main road (at the entrance to Sanski Most, near the Water Park). Traffic is alternating, one lane at a time, at the work site.

Regular lighting maintenance works are being carried out in the Čaklovići tunnel on the Tuzla-Kalesija main road during night hours (11 PM - 5 AM), during which traffic is alternating, one lane at a time. There will be no works during the holidays and weekends.

Passenger vehicle traffic at border crossings is currently experiencing short delays.

Due to the upcoming New Year's holiday, a ban on the transport of explosives is in effect throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina from today at 12 PM until January 3, 2023, at 12 AM (in Republika Srpska until January 2, 12 AM).
