Border Police on Dodik's crossing into Serbia: There is no barrier at the Rača border crossing

(Patria) - The Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina informed the public that at the Rača border crossing, where the delegation of the President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik crossed the state border even though he is a fugitive from justice, there is actually no border barrier and that they are conducting an investigation into the matter.

On Tuesday, March 25, 2025, the Border Police of BiH issued a statement regarding the aforementioned event, stating that an investigation is underway, conducted by order of the Director of the Border Police of BiH, Mirko Kuprešaković, and that the Prosecutor's Office of BiH has been informed.

"In conducting the investigation, we are cooperating with all law enforcement agencies and are taking all measures and actions to establish the facts related to this event, and we will submit the results of the investigation to the Prosecutor's Office of BiH. The public will be informed of all further activities and important information, as has been the case so far," stated the Border Police of BiH.

They remind that the Border Police of BiH, as an administrative organization within the Ministry of Security of BiH, with operational independence, established to perform police tasks related to the supervision and control of crossing the BiH border and other tasks prescribed by law, "acts in accordance with its competencies and will take all available measures to protect the state border and preserve the security of BiH."

Also, as they state, the Border Police of BiH monitors the situation at the state border and takes measures and actions in accordance with positive legal regulations and its own plans, and continues to improve cooperation with other police agencies and bodies, as well as neighboring countries, in order to prevent illegal crossings of the state border and other forms of cross-border crime, such as smuggling of persons, fight against terrorism, human trafficking, smuggling of narcotic drugs, trafficking in weapons and explosives, document forgery and the like, all with the aim of creating a safe environment for all citizens of BiH and the region, and our progress in achieving European standards and strengthening common European security.
