Offensive graffiti outside the barracks in Pazarić: Reported to police, material submitted, graffiti removed

(Patria) - The Ministry of Defence of Bosnia and Herzegovina has responded to media reports about offensive graffiti in the wider area of the "Zaim Imamović" barracks in Pazarić.

During a regular field inspection by the commanders of the unit stationed at the "Zaim Imamović" barracks, offensive graffiti written by currently unknown individuals was observed at a location outside the military-controlled area of the barracks.

"We emphasize that the mentioned location is not secured by the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as it is outside the perimeter of the military-controlled area. Immediately upon noticing this, concrete and responsible measures were taken: the competent police agencies were notified, the event was documented (photographed), relevant materials were submitted to the competent police administration, and the offensive graffiti was removed to prevent further spread of inappropriate content.

In cooperation with the competent police agencies, activities continue to determine all facts and circumstances of this event, as well as to identify and prosecute the perpetrators.

The Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina remain firmly committed to preserving a safe environment, professional conduct, and zero tolerance for any form of inappropriate and offensive behaviour. In order to prevent the spread of misinformation and protect the reputation of institutions, we call on the media and the public to inform the public responsibly, based on verified and official data," the Ministry stated.

The written graffiti read "Death to Serbs" and "Bosnia for Bosniaks".
