Sarajevo City Administration Rejects All Claims by Israeli Ambassador Peleg: Instead of Untruths, Call for an End to Conflict

(Patria) - The Ambassador of Israel to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Galit Peleg, reacted to today's protests in several BiH cities in support of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, at a time when the Israeli army is bombing and blockading this territory.

"If you support Palestinians, why don't you condemn Hamas?" wrote Galit. She added that Hamas committed a massacre in Israel.

"Hamas uses Palestinians in Gaza as human shields; 550 Hamas rockets fired at Israel fell in Gaza, killing Palestinians, including at Al Ahli hospital," wrote Galit Peleg.

Israeli Ambassador Spreading Public Untruths

The reaction came quickly from the Sarajevo City Administration.

"Regarding the public statements by Israeli Ambassador Galit Peleg, the Sarajevo City Administration rejects all her claims as untrue. The Mayor of Sarajevo, Benjamina Karić, has clearly condemned the killing of all innocent civilians since the beginning of the conflict, therefore we do not accept anyone imposing tendentious statements aimed at discrediting the Mayor and the City of Sarajevo," stated the Sarajevo City Administration's response.


They added that they want to "emphasize that neither the Israeli ambassador nor anyone else can dictate the City's stance, and the City has not and will not succumb to any pressure."

"The City of Sarajevo calls on the ambassador to focus her energy, instead of spreading such untruths, on calling for solutions for the benefit of both the innocent Israeli and Palestinian people. From the City of Sarajevo, we send only messages of peace to the whole world!" the response stated.
