(Patria) - Bijeljina Mayor Ljubiša Petrović has been released.
This is a fight for justice, said Ljubiša Petrović after leaving the building of the District Public Prosecutor's Office in Bijeljina.
The Prosecutor's Office decided to release him. They will propose restrictive measures, said the lawyer.
Then, after a multi-hour hearing, the mayor addressed the gathered crowd.
– My dear people, thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support. Freedom is a struggle, may it last forever. We continue the fight every day, without an ounce of deviation. In the statement I gave, I said that I do not feel guilty at all. To one of the questions, my answer was short – we give public money to students so that Bijeljina can be prosperous, more educated, and so that Bijeljina can see the light – he emphasized.
Petrović announced that he is continuing his fight and that he is not giving up on his desire to liberate Republika Srpska.
When asked by the Prosecutor's Office about the scholarship money, Petrović said that he stated that public money should go to students.
"The money wants to go into their pockets, that's why all this happened," Petrović said.
The decision to release him was announced by the prosecutor of the OJT Bijeljina, Sabina Husejnagić.
We remind you that a civil protest was held in front of the Police Administration in Bijeljina due to the detention of the mayor of Bijeljina, Ljubiša Petrović.
The citizens then proceeded to the prosecutor's office in Bijeljina, where they waited for several hours for Petrović to be released. There was also a scuffle between the police and citizens at that gathering.
