(Patria) - Sarajevo Mayor Benjamina Karić reacted on social media after the Mayor of East Sarajevo, Ljubiša Ćosić (SNSD), placed a sign at the entrance to East Sarajevo with a scandalous inscription about "157,000 Serbs who had to leave Sarajevo". The sign was placed on the road to Pale.
"The Mayor of East Sarajevo went a step further today. He placed a scandalous sign that reads 'Welcome to East Sarajevo, the city of 157,000 Serbs who had to leave Sarajevo'. Once again, the City of Sarajevo is targeted, truth and justice are targeted.
Ćosić, you are trying in vain, times have changed so that even a lie repeated a thousand times will NEVER become the truth! I will file a criminal complaint against you today with the Court of BiH for inciting national, racial, and religious hatred, discord, and intolerance. My team is checking the location where the sign was placed; if you have occupied even a millimeter of our City's territory, you will be held accountable for that too," Karić wrote.
We remind you that the authorities of Republika Srpska continuously deny the siege of Sarajevo, which lasted 1425 days and is a judicially established fact. On the other hand, they propagate the mantra that 157,000 Serbs had to leave Sarajevo.
What is an additional problem is that Ćosić, as the mayor of East Sarajevo, today declared it the "city of Serbs", even though it is known that a large number of Bosniaks live in East Sarajevo.
