City of Zenica to Provide Medical Equipment to Healthcare Workers and Food Reserves to Citizens

In the late afternoon hours, the fifth extraordinary session of the Civil Protection Headquarters of the City of Zenica was held. The session was chaired by the Commander of the Headquarters, who by virtue of his office is the Mayor of Zenica, Fuad
Kasumović.

These are the most important decisions made at the session:

1. The City of Zenica will send a letter to banks operating in the city of Zenica, requesting that disability benefits and pensions for persons over 65 years of age, who are prohibited from moving according to current orders and who have not authorized anyone to collect their pensions, be delivered to them through the competent post offices.
2. The Service for Hygiene and Epidemiology of the Public Institution Health Center Zenica has been instructed to prepare Instructions for building managers in Zenica on how to disinfect common areas of the building during the coronavirus situation.
3. The Service for Hygiene and Epidemiology of the Public Institution Health Center Zenica has been instructed to prepare and distribute through the media Instructions for citizens on the proper way of wearing protective masks and gloves.
4. The Public Enterprise RTV Zenica Zenica has been instructed to adapt its programming content to the current situation regarding the pandemic caused by coronavirus. This particularly applies to preparing educational segments on the importance of implementing anti-epidemic measures such as constant hand hygiene, respecting personal distancing rules, and recommendations for isolation and avoiding close social contacts. It is also desirable to provide a necessary portion of entertainment content for all generations.
5. All citizens of Zenica are recommended to avoid unnecessary movement, such as going to the pharmacy, the nearest grocery store, etc.
6. All citizens of Zenica are recommended to report all persons they know to be violating the home isolation measure. This recommendation particularly applies to residents in remote local communities of the City of Zenica.
7. The City of Zenica, in accordance with the recommendations of the Civil Protection Headquarters of the City of Zenica, will ensure the procurement of special protective masks for the needs of healthcare workers in Zenica.

8. The City of Zenica, in accordance with the recommendations of the Civil Protection Headquarters of the City of Zenica, will ensure the procurement of equipment and apparatus for coronavirus testing.
9. The City of Zenica, in accordance with the recommendations of the Civil Protection Headquarters of the City of Zenica, will equip part of the facilities in the Nemila Youth Settlement for the accommodation of individuals found to have violated the home isolation measure.

"We have included several of our excellent doctors in the work of the Civil Protection Headquarters of the City of Zenica to help us make the decisions we are making to prevent the spread of the coronavirus infection for
our citizens the best and most effective. What I will appeal to the citizens once again is to respect the adopted measures and recommendations of the authorities regarding the prevention of the spread of the coronavirus infection," said the commander of the Civil Protection Headquarters of the City of Zenica, Fuad Kasumović, after the session.

He also expressed dissatisfaction with the work and attitude of the Cantonal Civil Protection Headquarters of ZDK towards the City of Zenica, stating that this headquarters has not provided the City of Zenica with any information about the current situation and measures taken in the fight against coronavirus to date, despite the requests sent by the City to that headquarters.
