City of Light: Jajce to Host Thousands of Tourists from Home and Abroad This Year

The town of Jajce in central Bosnia will host thousands of tourists from home and abroad this year, and some local motels have already received their first reservations, writes the Bosnian news agency Patria.

The director of the Agency for Cultural-Historical and Natural Heritage and Development of Tourist Potentials of the City of Jajce Huso Hadžić told Patria that the entire city is preparing for the guests who will visit the royal city this year and whom they are eagerly awaiting.

World attention was drawn by a group of 200 students from Poland, who will set off hitchhiking towards Jajce on April 30, and the group that arrives in the city first will receive a valuable prize.

- We do not know exactly when the students will arrive in Jajce, it could be in a few days, or even a whole week or more, because it will depend on how lucky the students are when they hitchhike towards Bosnia and Herzegovina – said Hadžić.

At the end of May, on the 30th and 31st, a Tourism and Eco-Products Fair will be held in Jajce, which will present the cultural, economic, and historical heritage of Jajce to tourists. During the fair, tourists will enjoy a brass band review, tasty food, folk costume choreographies, parades of cultural-artistic societies, and other entertainment programs.

Hadžić announces that the biggest spectacles await domestic and foreign tourists in July and August. On July 18 and 19, on the plateau near Mlinčići on the Pliva Lakes, the city is organizing Diaspora Days, and on August 1, international jumps from the waterfall in the city center.

About 21 meters high, formed at the confluence of the Pliva and Vrbas rivers, the waterfall in Jajce is, according to many assessments, among the ten most beautiful waterfalls in the world. It is among the rare waterfalls located in the very center of the city, writes Patria.
