City of Sarajevo supported the "Yes, I Train" program for children with developmental disabilities

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The City of Sarajevo, led by Mayor Abdulah Skaka, supported the project "Yes, I Train" within which children with developmental disabilities will be enabled to train according to programs adapted to their capabilities.

The Memorandum on the implementation of this project was signed by Mayor Skaka, President of the "Gym Champion" Club Nedim Babić, and Director of the School for Secondary and Vocational Education and Vocational Training Inga Biščević.

"I have always had the desire and will to work, as well as love for that population, and I believe they are not different from others. That population must be integrated into society. I had the opportunity to work personally with a little girl who achieved excellent results in terms of coordination and all other parameters and motor skills," said Babić.

He explained that the club deals with sports recreation and fitness, and emphasized that children with developmental disabilities will be able to train without discrimination.

Inga Biščević, Director of the School for Secondary and Vocational Education and Vocational Training, explained that the main goal of the memorandum is for students to have adapted training workshops.

"The goal is to empower every child in psycho-physical development. It will be carried out under the slogan 'Yes, I Train'. The program will be implemented through two forms of support. Support for children who are not independent and for students who are independent. Complete programs will be based on a weekly basis. It is very important to emphasize that the focus here is also on the quality use of free time," said Biščević.

Abdulah Skaka began his address with the words "Yes, I Train".

"And the desire of the City of Sarajevo is to support all projects like this one. I talked with Nedim for a long time, and I must say that his engagement is worthy of every attention. Such a memorandum is proof that the private sector can cooperate well with the public sector. No one should feel threatened or lack the opportunity for education and progress," added Skaka.
