SARAJevo, (Patria) – The Border Police of BiH have not been officially notified by competent authorities regarding the entry of the Russian Federation's military-sanitary convoy into BiH, it was confirmed for the Patria News Agency from the BiH Border Police.
We remind that Dragan Čović, Speaker of the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly and President of HDZ BiH, requested from the Embassy of the Russian Federation for a military-sanitary convoy to come to Mostar and perform "disinfection and decontamination" of the hospital treating coronavirus patients.
The Embassy requested permission from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the entry of 24 members of the medical team and five specialized military ABHO vehicles. However, Minister Bisera Turković sent a letter yesterday to the Ministers of the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Security, Sifet Podžić and Fahrudin Radončić, who responded that they are not competent to grant permission, but that it is exclusively within the jurisdiction of the BiH Presidency.
However, there is no information for now whether entry will be approved.
Otherwise, the same convoy previously stayed in the territory of Republika Srpska in the first half of April, where they disinfected healthcare facilities in Banja Luka. It remains unknown whether the Presidency's permission was also granted for entry into BiH at that time.
