Today's part of the session concluded, deputies will discuss Mioković's dismissal tomorrow

(Patria) - Today's part of the session of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina has concluded in Sarajevo.

Among other things, deputies considered a set of laws for which the FBiH Government, as the proposer, stated are key for a comprehensive and strategic reform of the financial and payment system of the FBiH.

The FBiH Government also emphasizes that this is one of the most significant institutional and economic reforms in this mandate.

"With this reform package, the FBiH establishes a modern, secure, and European-aligned legal framework for digital payments, strengthening the protection of financial service users and the long-term stability of the financial system, while creating all key preconditions for BiH's accession to the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA)," states the proposer.

The reform package includes laws on payment services, electronic money, and payment accounts, as well as amendments to the Law on Protection of Financial Service Users, the Law on Banks, and the Law on Microcredit Organizations.

Joining the SEPA payments area, the proposer emphasizes, brings citizens faster and cheaper payments, lower business costs for the economy, and stronger oversight and greater stability for the financial system. These laws are a key regulatory precondition for SEPA accession and a strong impetus for overall economic development.

The proposer further states that the Law on Payment Services is the central pillar of the reform, as it systematically regulates modern payment transactions in the FBiH for the first time, opens the market for innovations and new payment service providers, while simultaneously setting high security standards and strong regulatory oversight.

Together with the laws on electronic money and payment accounts, the FBiH Government ensures faster, cheaper, and more secure digital payments for citizens and the economy, greater transparency of fees, and stronger legal certainty.

Amendments to the laws on banks, microcredit organizations, and protection of financial service users ensure full alignment of the entire financial system with the new rules, strengthen oversight, and further protect citizens' rights.

With this package of laws, the FBiH Government sends a clear and strong message - the Federation is decisively entering a new phase of financial system modernization. This is a strategic decision that ensures lower costs, greater security, and financial services as they exist in the EU for citizens and the economy, state from the FBiH Government.

Entry into the SEPA system means concrete benefits for every citizen, every entrepreneur, and public institutions. This is a European standard that is now being built in the FBiH as well, states the explanation of the mentioned legal acts.

With this reform package, the Government confirms a clear political will for in-depth and responsible reforms in the interest of citizens, the economy, and BiH's European path, it is also stated.

The House of Representatives will vote on these laws, as well as the remaining agenda items, in tomorrow's continuation of the current regular session.

In addition to these and other topics, the agenda also includes an initiative by the HDZ-HNS, HDZ1990-HNP parliamentary clubs and deputies Slaven Raguž and Mario Karamatić for the dismissal of the Chairman of the House of Representatives, Dragan Mioković.
