(Patria) - A delegation of the Federal Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Federal Police Administration (FUP), consisting of Jasminka Ademović, Assistant Federal Minister of Internal Affairs, and Emin Terzo, independent inspector, today, on behalf of Minister Ram Isak and Director Vahidin Munjić, paid tribute to Vinko Šamarlić with a minute of silence and laying flowers at the Lav cemetery, on the occasion of marking the 33rd anniversary of the death of one of the greatest heroes of the Defense-Liberation War 1992-1995.

Vinko Šamarlić was a prominent judoka, a member of the Special Unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Odred Bosna, who was posthumously awarded the highest war decorations Golden Police Star, Medal for Bravery, and the Order of the Golden Coat of Arms with Swords for his bravery in armed combat, and a street in the Sarajevo settlement of Dobrinja bears his name. He was only 28 years old when he died – the FUP announced.

They emphasize that despite the burden of years, the memory of Vinko Šamarlić does not fade.

His family, friends, and comrades-in-arms keep him from being forgotten. They keep the memory of the former brilliant judoka, special forces member, and fighter, but also a great man, alive – the FUP states.
