(Patria) - Suspended prosecutor of the Sarajevo Cantonal Prosecutor's Office, Jasminka Knežević, has been sentenced to one year in prison and given a ten-year ban from holding judicial office for disclosing official secrets.
The Special Division of the Supreme Court of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in a first-instance verdict, established that Knežević sent confidential information to an unauthorized person in May last year.
As Judge Mersudin Pružan stated, it was proven that Knežević sent Sreten Manojlović information from the Intelligence-Security Agency (OSA), which was classified as “confidential” in 2020, as well as the last page of a witness examination record, knowing that this constituted particularly confidential data.
“She made a confidential document available to an unauthorized person,” the verdict states.
It is added that Knežević communicated with Manojlović via TikTok and WhatsApp between May 16 and 20 last year.
“The court considers the sentence adequate to the circumstances of the committed act,” said Pružan.
The security measure includes a ten-year ban from holding a judicial office, as well as from performing the duties of a legal associate, advisor, and investigator in courts and prosecutor's offices in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The defendant is obliged to cover the costs of the court proceedings.
An appeal against the pronounced verdict is allowed to the Supreme Court of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Detektor reports.
